There is no promotion or relegation in the Indian Premier League.The home and away games system is adopted. The scoring method is three points for the winner, no points for the loser, one point for each draw, and the top four players in the league go to the play-off. Under rules set by the Indian Football Association, all 10 teams must employ a foreign coach and bring in four foreign players, including a world-class star, two foreign players and an Asian player.
